First Time I am Teaching






I was assigned to teach in Cabug-cabug NHS. I teach Phisic, however my major is not phisic. But, like Mr. Felix say to me, just do my best for this. So I prepared it very diligently. In Cabug-cabug NHS, I assigned to teach Newton and Mendel class. Newton and Mendel not a person name. In there every scients class named by scientists name.
Today is my first time to teaching a class. I am very nervous, really nervous. For a several minutes, I am just standing in front of class, and just read my powerpoint. But, I feel it’s not good. Luckily, I have souvenir from my country, Indonesia, then share it to the class. Because the souvenir, I can cold the class athmosphere. For this time, I got many critism for my first performance. But, the critism built me more good in another chance.
What I really remember is, when I give a joke in the class, the students not respond it like what I want. It feel so zonk. And the things that make their give their attention to me is when I speak Indonesian language.
Thats my experience when I teach in another country, espesially in Roxas, Philippines.

Go to Atih-atihan festival

Januari 19th

Today is a very fun day. We go to cultural tour to roxas city. In there, first, we go to Ang Panublion Museum. This museum is really awesome. Then we go to the first president of Philippine’s house. In front of this house is a pie of Philippine’s shop named Spanggo. We try
it and we love it. In there we meet other participant. We talk together in Spanggo.
In there, for the  first time I got into the church. The church named Sacred Heart of Jesus. I feel this place is very holy place. Feel like my mosque, calm and comfortable.
then we go to Santa Monica Parish Church. There is a very big bell. The biggest bell in this country. Very big and beautiful place. When the bell ring, the sound is very loud and it’s sounds all over the place.
The last place we attend  is Capiz Eco Park. After that, we back home and get some rest before we get dinner. This day is a tired day.


Januari 20th
Today we will go to Karibo City, we will attend Atih-atihan festival. It’s a two hour trip. We accompanied CAPSU’s teachers but in another car. We get some breakfast before we go around. We go to festival with trycycle.
In festival Atih-atihan, everyone fulled the street. And just for today, the city turn down signal because will be there a politician attend the festival. There is parade in this festival. The parade contains with traditional dancer and convoy with Jesus mini doll.
In there we buy some souvenir that will we brought to Indonesia. We go to the same place we get breakfast to lunch. After lunch, we enjoy the time with music. Many CAPSU’s teacher go dance on the floor.
We back to the festival after that. We back home at 9 pm and dinner in the hostel.

The challenge Begin! Observation Teaching Day






January, 14th
Today is my first time I join to the class, I am very excited. I am anxious because this is my first time I join in the class in Philippines. When I get there for the first time, I have no idea about what I have to teach. And I very shocked when Jullien tell me I have to teaching physic on there. Because it’s not my masterliness. But, I deserve it because I can learn it again but in Philippines’s curriculum with Jullien and Mr. Felix.
When I come in the class, I can look how exited the students about my return. Some even introduced they self in Indonesian language to me. I very enjoy the class. The students may to playing in the class, but when the serious time, they have to serious too.the class is very enjoyed and the students feel it with happiness.
I was introduces to many teachers in here. They are very kind to me. I hope I will lear many things in here.




January, 15th
This is the second day I join to the class. I wake up in the early morning because I have to get there in 7.30 am. But I keep coming late, because this is my first time I go to there without my buddies. And I very asleep in the morning because I tired before. When I arrived there I meet Jullien as soon as I can, and then we meet Mr. Felix. Mr. Felix greet us warmly.
Mr. Felix is a great teacher. I’m wondered to meet him. He teach his students not like a bored teacher but like a friend that telling many information to his students. Mr. Felix telling us that when we teach we must not too serious, because the student’s attention just for 12-13 minutes in the beginning, so, for the other minutes we must have strategy to get their attention. Example like, making a joke, telling a story, or something else that will make them not sleepy and focus on us. So, the point is we must good to get our student’s attention.
 At 9.00 am I go to other class, to grade 9 newton class. I introduce my self with Philippine language in there. But, you know? My pronunciation a little bad. But, I’m happy I can introduce my self to them. After that, I’m sat back to watch Mr. Felix teach.
In the afternoon, I have no agenda, so, I finish my blog assignment, after that I go to school festival to watch their dance performance. This festival look like pentas seni in Indonesia. I very excited watch them because I look the students dance enjoyed.
In the way home, I and my friends buy a street food. I try kwek-kwek and halo-halo and feel very familiar with the taste, but, I don’t very sure  the taste same like what in Indonesia.
I go home with a public transportation called van. It’s not my first experience I go with van. But, because I’m go home alone, the van pass the CAPSU about 100 meter before it stop, and because that I have to walk alone 100 meter to the CAPSU. Maybe I take a long minutes to arrive CAPSU, Pamela, Melisa and Joed get worried on me. They also worried me because can’t contact me because my phone battery died. I’m happy they worried me because I feel they treated me like their little brother


Welcome, Philippines!



January 8th, 7.30 pm Yogyakarta’s time
at that time, I go to Jakarta from Yogyakarta by plane, my friends bring me to the airport. I feel very sad before go because I think I will leave my home, Indonesia, and my friends for a long time. But, I have to go to do my job. This is the first time I go with plane, and this is the first time I go to another country, exactly. So, because I go to Philippines alone and without experience, I learn many things on the journey. I ask many people in the airport and read every billboard there. I learn how to get my purpose in any way.
When I arrived in Jakarta, I am sleep, because my next flight is in the morning on January 9th and of course I have to check in 2 hours before.

January, 9th
Before go to manila, I have to transit to Malaysia’s airport. I arrived at 8 am Malaysia’s time and waiting to my next flight for 8 hours before go to Manila at 4.30 pm. I arrived to Manila at 9.30 pm Manila’s time. And again, I am sleep in Manila’s airport to wait my next flight to Roxas at 4 .00 am. I’m really tired on this journey, exactly. On the next morning, I finally arrived in Roxas, I am happy.


January, 10th
I arrived in Roxas at 6.00 am and picked up by Dr. Napoleon . I was so surprised when they recognize and approach me in the airport, exactly.
After that, they bring me to the hostel that will be my home stay for a month in Philippines. Sir Napoleon make an offer to bring me get some eat in Jolibee, but, because I feel so tired because the journey, I reject it. In the hostel I feel asleep. At 10.00 am I have session to attend welcome ceremony that attend by all the participant of SEA Teacher program in CAPSU Pontevedra.
At 9.00 am Jullien wake me up. Jullien is my guide during I stay in Philippines, which is in here they called buddies. After that I prepare to attend the ceremonial. I meet Pamela and Melisa for the first time on that event. They are from Mercu Buana University on Yogyakarta.
I am very happy on the event because I feel we are very welcoming in here. We introduced to professors and teachers that will be cooperating teacher in the school where I will teaching then.I will teaching in Cabug Cabug NHS during I’ll be practicing teacher in here.
After the ceremonial, I and Dr. Judel, who guide me, visit to the school. When I arrived there, we got a problem about my materials for teaching. I can’t teaching chemistry that my basically major, because for grade 9 in Philippines, they get chemistry in quarter 2, but they are in quarter 4 now. So, I have to teaching them physic even it not my basically major. I hope it not be my problem, because physic still in exact lesson even it not my masterliness.

My Teaching Method in Roxas City


teaching method that I use is Students Center Learning that I am just to be a facilitator in the class and the students to be independent in learning. the facilitator mean I just help students to fix the problem in materials of discussion.

During I join in this class, I learning that students just can focus on the first 13 minutes. so, I must to make the class with more fun and interested to them.

      The class will be divided into 3 groups.

      There are six words jumbled. As a group, arrange the jumbled letters to form into a word which is associated with the word “energy”.

      Paste/glue the letters formed into word in the graphic organizer to complete the forms of energy.

      The first group to finish will be given three points, next is two points and one point respectively which will be added to the group’s correct answers.

      Each group will then choose a reporter who will present their answers to the following questions.

·         Each group will be given 3 minutes to review the pictures.

Energy is the fundamental concepts in physics that is needed by all organisms for growth and movement.

The transformation of energy is a process that involves energy changing one form to another. This process happens all the time whether in the world or in the human body.

Energy can never be created from nothing nor can it be destroyed into nothing. Energy is simply transformed from an energy input (serving as source) into an energy output during transfer and/or transformation.
